Leigh Michaels wrote and burned a quarter of a million words before submitting her first romance to a publisher, but the first editor to see her work bought it. Since then she’s written more than 75 contemporary romance novels – translated and published in 120 countries and more than 25 languages - as well as several non-fiction books.

More than 30 million copies of her romance novels have been published by Harlequin Books. Six of her books have been finalists for "Best Traditional Romance" novel in the RITA contest sponsored by Romance Writers of America. She has received two Reviewer’s Choice awards from Romantic Times Magazine.

Her latest book, On Writing Romance, was released by Writer’s Digest Books in January 2007 and has been called “the definitive guide to romance writing.” She teaches romance writing at Gotham Writers Workshop and has moderated the romance writing book club on www.bn.com. She also does a limited amount of manuscript critiquing and evaluation.
